In 1999, before getting into the entertainment business, owner Tim Breckheimer married his lovely bride, Lorrie. Although they were planning a small reception, they wanted to have a DJ so that the guests could dance and have a good time. Thinking that all DJs were the same, Tim hired the cheapest one that he could find. At the reception someone else showed up to DJ. The DJ started off by playing the wrong version of their First Dance song. At that point it was forgivable because anyone can make a mistake, but then during open dancing the DJ played songs that Tim had requested not to be played to the original DJ he had met. Needless to say, Tim was not happy with his choice. He thought, "Why would a DJ book an event and then send someone who didn't know what we wanted at our reception?" Little did Tim know that he would soon find his passion, and along with that, the answer to that question.

In 2003 Tim decided to start his own entertainment business. Knowing that he was not ready to take on important events, like weddings, he stuck to karaoke events and home parties for some time. During this time Tim started to research on performing at wedding receptions. Knowing how important a DJ is to a wedding reception and not wanting to follow the path that many DJ companies have chosen or the DJ company at his own reception, he found that this was going to be a continual learning process. During the beginning of this learning process he learned why many DJ services run the way they do. It was at this point that Tim decided that his business was going to be different.

In 2005 Tim decided it was time to expand from just doing karaoke. He registered and changed the business name to It's Your Entertainment, spent thousands of dollars on DVDs and DJ Conventions in order to learn not only how to do things differently at wedding receptions, but also how not to have a DJ service that operates like most others, which was something that was important to him.

Currently Tim and his wife, Lorrie, work together at many events to make them a success.
